Do you believe it's possible to build a business using intuition and passion as your guide?
A lot of people are taught from a young age that your dreams were something you have to let go of when you become an adult.
They were taught that the people who find a way to provide for themselves and their families, by doing something that they love, were a lucky few.
And the reality it is that most people weren't that lucky.
We were told to settle.
Do what it takes to get the bills paid.
That may not be a bad thing for some people.
But when you feel the calling on your heart to be an entrepreneur, settling just to get the bills paid can make a little piece of you die in the process.
Time for money.
Hours hours upon hours of your life gone working for someone else.
We fall into the trap because someone decided to put a price tag on what one hour of your life is worth and most times, it takes a lot of hours to provide the income you need.

Felicia Giouzellis was the Assistant Vice President of one of the biggest catering companies in California.
From the outside looking in, she was successful.
But in her heart, she knew something wasn't right.
She was always busy.
She was overworked.

1. Focus Yourself On Them
Think about what you love.
This may be your passion.
This may be where you feel your heart guiding you.
But there is a tiny element of truth to what we were taught.
Passion alone won't make you a success. Your passion needs the right focus to thrive.
Your business is about the people you're helping.
What do they need?
What do they want?
How can you help them?
This is what your focus needs to be on.
The only way to move forward is to make the people who need you to speak into their lives the priority.
If you only focus on yourself and your goals your business can't go anywhere. You can't move forward looking at yourself.

People don't need perfect.
Perfectionism is just one of the one ways to focus on yourself instead of giving people the knowledge and tools that they need in their lives.
2. Summon Your Tribe: Your List Isn't About The Numbers
Entrepreneurs can get so caught up in numbers.
Ever noticed that?
We want the data. We want the statistics. And we can do this to the point where we lose sight of everything we just talked about.
It's an easy game to get caught up in, but have you ever really thought about what happens here? Have you thought about how damaging it can be?
Obsessing over numbers isn't going to do your customers any favors.
Your people are not numbers or statistics.
Felicia only has 400 people on her list and about 1,400 on her Facebook group. She's been successful because she's built a strong tribe of people. And she delivers value to her tribe in an impactful way to them.
She doesn't treat her tribe like a bunch of numbers. And this is a very clear in her marketing strategy.
Facebook live for connection.
Felicia does one live video every week for her Facebook group. Her goal is to build connections and meet these people where they are. She relates to them in ways that they need.
She asks them questions:
- "What's going on in your life?"
- "What do you want to talk about?"
- "Do you have any questions?"
She doesn't talk at these people. She lets them choose the direction the video needs to take. Felicia listens to where they're at in life so she can serve them better.
If you've hit a roadblock with Facebook Live, maybe this strategy will fit you and your audience better.
Focus on your people. Listen to what they need to say to you. Hear what they want to get out of your relationship. And deliver what they need.
This is crucial to any marketing strategy. It's not about manipulation or sleazy sales tactics to make your wallet nice and fat. It's about connecting with people.
3. Sometimes You Need A Hand
Even if you're more of a lone wolf personality, that doesn't mean you have to do everything by yourself.
Felicia hired a VA to handle all the administrative stuff in her business. By doing this, she's able to focus on her tribe, her content, and give her people what they need.
All the backend work can be a huge distraction to what's vital. I'm not criticizing anyone who has done it by themselves. Some people are great at that kind of thing.
But the truth is:
Most people have too many irons in the fire as it is.
Our society seems to value being an overworked, burned out, stressed out mess of a person. For some reason this is a prize people go after. We find our worth in working ourselves to death.
There's a better way to run your business. You're worth isn't determined by your workload and stress levels.
Think about how crazy that is.
We wear our minds down from working so much and brag about it. Like stress is a sign that we're the super productive people who get things done.
You don't have to fly solo.
If something in your business is taking your attention from what matters...
If you're so caught up in the tasks and back-end work involved in running an online business that you can't give your best to your tribe, then don't hesitate. Reach out for help if you need it.
That may be VA.
That may mean you need to team up with a friend or someone you know who can handle that part of it for you. Reach out to your connections, and you never know who will come into your life.

Don't let pride reduce your impact on this world. Don't romanticize the lone wolf entrepreneur image so much that you're hurting your business and your customers.
Not only could you be missing out on more opportunities and relationships. It could also make it so much harder to give your audience the attention and value that they deserve.
Not only will it be better for your own health and your customers it will build a solid foundation for your business that will stand the test of time.
4. You Don't Have To Do It All By Yourself
Sometimes life is a process of trial and error. Sometimes there are battles that only you can face.
But when it comes to sharing your passion with the world you shouldn't have to go it alone.
